Puerto Rico Earthquake Relief
Still recovering from Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rico has experienced more than 3,000 earthquakes since Dec. 28th, 2019. On January 7th, 2020 a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit the southwest part of the Island, leaving over 2,000 people as refugees.
Hundreds of families are without a home after houses, schools and other structures collapsed. In the town of Guánica alone, more than 150 homes were badly damaged or destroyed. The lack of economic support to rehabilitate or reconstruct these homes is a big problem that affects the mental health of the refugees.
Salud Centro is committed to helping the families affected by the earthquakes by enabling initiatives for the reconstruction of homes in the affected communities. Returning a home to at least one family will build resilience and bring hope to the affected communities. We thank you in advance for helping us help others.
